Later, she arrives to take her parents home, and they share a meal together. After eating, Grace excuses herself to do some chores. Her parents comment on what a good and understanding child she is, feeling grateful for her presence in their lives.

  Grace's family is overjoyed when they discover her brother has been accepted into college. However, the news is met with resistance from their father, who feels burdened by the responsibility of supporting his son's education. Despite this, Grace's mother is determined to ensure her son receives an education, saying she will "sell pots and pans" if necessary to make it happen. As the family discusses their plans, a villager named Da Lei arrives, seeking payment for his work. However, he is met with hostility and told to leave. The scene ends with tension and uncertainty, as the family struggles to come to terms with their circumstances and the challenges that lie ahead. Grace's brother's acceptance into college has brought both hope and hardship to the family.
