To make matters worse, Finn discovers that his ex-girlfriend, Han Qian, is now Sun Ming’s lover, adding insult to injury. Finn pleads for the payment, explaining that the money is crucial for his sister’s medical treatment, but Sun Ming dismisses him cruelly. In a final act of humiliation, Sun Ming demands Finn kneel and crawl under him if he wants the payment. Finn, devastated and betrayed, faces the harsh reality of his situation, left with no money and a truck full of worthless porridge.

  Finn, overwhelmed by betrayal and financial ruin, finds himself in a heated confrontation. His porridge has ruined someone’s expensive shoes, and he’s being threatened with a hefty fine. Suddenly, he’s thrust into a chaotic scene where he’s mistaken for a magistrate in the Dyer Dynasty. Confused and disoriented, Finn realizes he might have traveled through time. As he’s surrounded by people seeking his help, he struggles to comprehend his new reality and the responsibilities thrust upon him.

  Finn Leed, still adjusting to his sudden role as the magistrate of Peace County, finds himself in a precarious situation. A soldier, realizing his mistake in threatening Finn, begs for forgiveness, acknowledging Finn’s authority. Finn, confused but accepting, confirms his position as the magistrate. Meanwhile, the people of Peace County, starving and desperate, grow restless. They haven’t eaten in days and threaten to storm the magistrate’s office, even calling for his death. Finn, still processing his time-traveling predicament, contemplates his newfound power and the chaos around him. A young woman, Qingniao, offers to serve him in exchange for food for her family, but Finn, overwhelmed, struggles to respond. As tensions rise, news arrives that rebels outside the city are planning to kill the magistrate—Finn himself. Realizing the gravity of his situation, Finn must quickly decide how to navigate this dangerous new world.
• Ep. 4
  Finn, mistaken as the new magistrate, faces a dire situation in Peace County. The people are starving, and the city’s granaries are empty, as the previous magistrate sold all the grain. Desperate, Finn considers fleeing, but his assistant warns him that failing to complete the river construction project would result in the execution of his entire family. Finn, however, has no family to worry about. Realizing the gravity of the situation, he decides to confront the rebellion head-on, hoping the porridge in his truck can quell the unrest. Meanwhile, the laborers, fed up with their meager rations, plot to kill the magistrate and seize the granaries. As tensions rise, Finn prepares to face the mob, unsure if his porridge will be enough to save the day.

  Finn Leed, mistaken as the new magistrate in the Dyer Dynasty, faces a crowd of discontented villagers on the brink of rebellion. The villagers, skeptical of his intentions, accuse him of offering them nothing but watery porridge. Finn, determined to win their trust, reassures them that he will prioritize their well-being, even if it means sacrificing everything he has. He orders the remaining porridge to be distributed, but the villagers remain unconvinced, questioning the quality of the food. Finn’s assistant suggests diluting the porridge with water to make it stretch further, but Finn hesitates, knowing it might further diminish the villagers’ trust. The tension rises as Finn struggles to balance his limited resources with the growing demands of the starving population.
