• Ep. 1
  Reina Swenson, recently released from prison, is confronted by her fiancé, Tristan Lancer, who accuses her of killing his first love, Yvonne Coelen. Reina is told to keep him alive for a future, unspecified purpose. Meanwhile, another man, Shi Yu, is found after five years of searching. He has just been released from prison, where he was unjustly imprisoned by Lu Tingzhou. Shi Yu insists on his innocence, and his ally, Gu Xingran, reassures him, promising to clear his name with the help of a top law firm. The scene shifts to a confrontation between Gu Xingran and Lu Tingzhou, Shi Yu's fiancé. Accusations fly as Gu accuses Lu of harming Shi Yu, despite his recent release. Lu defends his position as Shi Yu's fiancé, but the tension between them is palpable. Shi Yu, caught in the middle, tries to calm the situation, urging Gu to leave. Meanwhile, Zishan, another woman in the household, claims to feel unwell and requests Tristan’s attention. Tristan orders Reina to be taken away, emphasizing that Zishan’s needs take priority. Reina’s suffering continues as she is scolded for failing to perform simple tasks, like bringing water, which Tristan claims is not hot enough. Reina’s mother visits, revealing the toll her imprisonment has taken on their family. Her father’s health has deteriorated, and they now face a financial crisis requiring three million dollars. Reina, desperate, decides to seek help from someone she trusts. Amidst the chaos, Reina’s clothes are soaked, a reminder of her servitude in the Lancer household. The tension escalates as Tristan’s anger grows, leaving Reina trapped in a cycle of humiliation and despair.
• Ep. 4
  On the anniversary of Yanran's death, Tingzhou confronts someone wearing Yanran's clothes, accusing them of disrespect. The person pleads for forgiveness, explaining that they need to borrow three million for their father's illness. Tingzhou, consumed by anger and grief, orders them to remove the clothes and forces them to apologize to Yanran. The tension escalates as Tingzhou demands they kneel and bow, vowing to make their life unbearable. The person begs for mercy, reminding Tingzhou of their past relationship, but Tingzhou remains unyielding, driven by pain and betrayal. The scene is charged with emotional intensity, revealing deep-seated resentment and unresolved grief.
• Ep. 5
  Reina pleads with Tristan to save her father, offering her kidney and three million dollars in desperation. Tristan coldly reminds her that the money is already owed to him for Yvonne’s death. Reina, now destitute, begs to know what more he wants from her. Tristan demands she confess to killing Yvonne, claiming he witnessed her pushing Yvonne off the rooftop. Reina vehemently denies the accusation, pleading for Tristan to believe her. Tristan, unmoved, orders that Reina be denied food and water until she confesses. As she is dragged away, Reina cries out for her father’s life, calling out to Tristan to release her. The scene is tense, filled with Reina’s desperation and Tristan’s unyielding cruelty.
