• Ep. 1
  Colin, a young man raised by his single mother, Nia, has always been a diligent student. One morning, Nia urges him to focus on his studies and grow up to be a useful member of society. However, he hesitates, expressing doubts about continuing his education due to the financial burden. Nia, visibly upset, reminds him of the sacrifices she has made—moving homes multiple times to ensure he had a good learning environment. She insists that he must pursue his education, emphasizing the importance of his future. Despite his reluctance, Colin is pushed by his mother to seize this opportunity and make something of himself.

  Colin's adoptive mother, Nia, returns to her father's house, pleading for financial help to support Colin's university education. Her father, bitter and resentful, berates her for raising Colin, calling him a burden and blaming her for her unmarried status. He mocks her for sacrificing her life for a child who isn’t even her own. Despite his harsh words, Nia persists, apologizing and begging for a loan, promising that Colin will repay him in the future. Her father reluctantly agrees but continues to belittle her, reminding her of the money he lent her years ago for their home. Nia, desperate and humiliated, thanks him, knowing this is her only hope to secure Colin's future. Meanwhile, Colin remains unaware of the sacrifices being made for him.

  Colin confronts a man who owes him money, accusing him of refusing to repay despite wearing expensive clothes. The debtor claims financial hardship, insisting he would pay if he had the means. Frustrated, Colin demands the money back, calling out the man's insincerity. The debtor pleads desperately, even kowtowing, begging for mercy and promising to repay. Colin remains unmoved, growing increasingly angry as the man continues to grovel. The tension escalates as the debtor repeatedly calls Colin "brother," hoping to appeal to their relationship. Colin, however, is resolute, refusing to accept empty gestures and demanding his money back. The scene ends with the debtor's desperate cries for leniency, highlighting the strained dynamics and financial struggles within the village.

  Colin, visibly distressed, confronts his family about the money they owe him, which he desperately needs for his education. His father dismisses him harshly, accusing him of thinking too highly of himself just because he’s pursuing higher education. The tension escalates as Colin’s father berates him, claiming that family should come before money, especially with his son’s upcoming wedding. Colin, feeling defeated, decides to give up on his studies to spare his mother further hardship. However, his mother, Nia, reassures him, insisting that he continue his education while she finds a way to solve their financial troubles. Meanwhile, Colin’s childhood friend, Belle, is revealed to be engaged to Ben Wood, a man she doesn’t love, in exchange for the money Colin needs. Colin, unaware of Belle’s sacrifice, vows to help her escape the constraints of their village, determined to repay her kindness and secure a better future for both of them.

  Colin's mother, Nia, expresses her hopes for him to explore the world and experience its beauty, believing he will return one day. Meanwhile, Belle, Colin's dear friend, pleads with her father for money to support Colin's education. Her father, however, is furious, accusing her of wasting her life on Colin and demanding she marry Ben Wood for the dowry. Belle reluctantly agrees, sacrificing her future for Colin's dreams. Later, Nia gives Colin money for his journey, insisting he owes Belle a lifetime of gratitude. Colin, touched but conflicted, promises to take care of himself, unaware of the heavy price Belle has paid for his success.
