Overview

Edit
Yvonne Wafford and Timothy Miller became orphans as a result of a plane crash caused by Yvonne’s father. Yvonne was only eight when the eighteen-year-old Timothy took her home. She mistakes this gesture for kindness when it is actually done out of revenge. For ten years, all she can think of is that he hates her and that his kindness is for everyone else but her. After all, he does not even allow her to call him by his nickname.

  • Ep. 1
The episode begins with a breaking news report about the tragic crash of the Mu family's private plane, caused by the pilot's drunkenness. Seventeen people were on board, and only five survived. Surprisingly, Timothy Mu, the young master of the Mu family, adopts the orphaned daughter of the pilot, Wen Zhiyuan, raising questions about his motives. The scene shifts to Timothy meeting the young girl, Yvonne Wen, for the first time. He coldly informs her of her father's death and his role in the tragedy, forbidding her from calling him "brother" and insisting she use his full name, Timothy Mu. The tension is palpable as Yvonne, now under his care, is warned by others to stay quiet and avoid upsetting him, hinting at the strained and complex relationship that will unfold between them.
  • Ep. 2
Yvonne, now nearly eighteen, is reminded by Timothy that her birthday is approaching. Their conversation is brief and formal, reflecting the strained relationship that has persisted over the years. Timothy mentions that he has found "quite a lot," hinting at something significant but leaving it vague. The tension between them is palpable as they acknowledge their three-year separation. A servant interrupts, calling Timothy to dinner, emphasizing the distance and formality in their interactions. Yvonne, still longing for a connection, calls out his name softly, but the moment passes without resolution, leaving her emotions unspoken and unresolved.
  • Ep. 3
Yvonne, now a young woman, is at school when her friend notices her arriving on a bicycle in the rain. Concerned, her friend urges her to eat something warm. The conversation shifts to Yvonne's family, and her friend asks about her parents, wondering why they seem absent from her life. Yvonne coldly replies that she has no connection with them and lives with her "brother." Her friend questions whether he is her real brother, hinting at the complexity of their relationship. Yvonne's discomfort grows, and she appears unwell, possibly feverish, though she dismisses it. The scene ends with a cryptic remark about certain things disappearing, suggesting unresolved tensions and secrets in Yvonne's life with Timothy.
  • Ep. 4
Yvonne and Timothy's tense relationship takes a dramatic turn when Timothy confronts a man named Shen Jian, the third son of the Shen family, who has been causing trouble at Yvonne's university. Timothy demands that the university president ensure Shen Jian is expelled within a day, threatening to cover all of Yvonne's expenses himself. Later, Timothy coldly informs Yvonne that Shen Jian will no longer be a problem, leaving her confused and frustrated. He asserts control over her life, declaring that her future—including relationships, marriage, and children—will be dictated by him as part of his ongoing revenge. Yvonne, visibly shaken, questions his authority, but Timothy remains unyielding, reinforcing his dominance over her life. The scene underscores the suffocating dynamic between them, as Yvonne struggles to break free from Timothy's manipulative grip.
  • Ep. 5
Yvonne and Timothy arrive late for a retake exam, prompting a teacher to scold them and demand they run laps as punishment. Yvonne, visibly upset, confronts the teacher, accusing him of unfair treatment and threatening to report him. The teacher, intimidated by Timothy's presence, tries to justify his actions, but Timothy intervenes, revealing his authority. The teacher pleads for mercy, citing his family's dependence on his job. Timothy, unmoved, orders the teacher to run laps himself, doubling the punishment. The tension escalates as Yvonne, overwhelmed by the situation, confronts Timothy, questioning if he ever thinks about their deceased parents. The scene highlights the strained relationship between Yvonne and Timothy, as well as the lingering pain of their shared past.
