When she is finally allowed in, Sophie boldly requests a decree to annul her marriage to General Zhan, citing her family's honor and her unwillingness to live a life of compromise. The Emperor, though reluctant, hints that he might grant her request. Meanwhile, General Zhan and his ally, General Yi, are puzzled by the Emperor's sudden refusal to meet them, suspecting Sophie's influence. They dismiss her efforts, confident that her plea will not alter their plans. Sophie, however, remains steadfast, determined to reclaim her autonomy and honor.
