The sister-in-law reveals that Gu Shaochen has moved on to another woman, Bai Wei. Meanwhile, Ruoxi gets into a physical altercation with Bai Wei, pushing her to the ground. As the drama unfolds, it becomes clear that Gu Shaochen's feelings for Ruoxi are still strong, but she is resolute in her decision to leave him behind. The scene ends with Gu Shaochen embracing another woman, leaving Ruoxi to pick up the pieces of her shattered past.
• Ep. 3
  The grandmother scolds her grandson, White Wei, for his behavior. She reminds him that he shouldn't have gotten involved with the Cust family and warns him to stay away from their son, Shao Chen. When asked if White Wei is okay, there's no response. The grandmother threatens that if anything happens to the White family's granddaughter while at the Cust family's home, she will take action. She then orders someone to escort her back to her room, saying she's tired. Meanwhile, White Wei is punished and forced to kneel outside as a form of discipline until he acknowledges his mistakes.
