The conversation between James' grandmother and another character reveals that James is 29 years old and still doesn't understand how to cultivate emotions with a girl. Meanwhile, Selena is trying to make sense of her own emotions and the situation with James.

  Selena visits her grandfather and they discuss making osmanthus cake. Her grandfather mentions that he hasn't had a good osmanthus cake in a long time and Selena promises to make one for him the next day. After the visit, Selena heads back to the company to meet the new CEO. Meanwhile, her coworkers are gossiping about the new CEO, saying he's handsome and accomplished, but hasn't been seen with any women lately. One of them jokingly says that maybe one of the single girls in the company will have a chance with him. However, another woman, who seems to be interested in the CEO, claims that she's the most qualified to be his partner. The scene ends with her plotting to get rid of her rival.
