As he is given proper clothes and sent to Cesario, he learns of the dire consequences for those who fail to meet her standards, including execution. Faced with the reality of his situation, Jack becomes desperate to escape, but is reminded of the high stakes and the control Cesario has over his fate. In a twist of events, Jack is presented to the queen as a potential painter for the perfect portrait, giving him a slim chance to survive and navigate this new world.

  In a parallel universe, Jack, a modern-day artist, finds himself in an ancient, matriarchal Roman society where women rule. He struggles to navigate this new world, attempting to please the queen with his art. When his initial attempts at painting fail to impress, he faces harsh punishment. Desperate, Jack uses a clever trick, presenting a reflection of the queen's beauty in water, which she finds satisfactory. As he gains her favor, Jack must also navigate the political intrigues and personal challenges of this foreign land, all while searching for a way back to his own time.

  In a parallel universe, Jack, a modern-day artist, finds himself in an ancient, matriarchal Roman society after an accident. He is brought before the queen, who is unimpressed with his artwork and orders him to be punished. Desperate, Jack pleads for mercy and is given a chance to prove his worth with a new painting tool provided by Cesario. Despite the queen's skepticism, Jack stakes his life on his ability to create a masterpiece.
