- Ep. 1In a tense and emotional scene, a father reassures his children, Yueyue and her brother, during a dangerous situation. The father, wearing a matching pendant with Yueyue, urges them to flee through a hidden path, promising to return. Despite Yueyue's desperate cries for her father, the brother leads her away, vowing to protect her. The father stays behind, facing an unknown threat, and later, it’s revealed that he was attacked and left with severe injuries, losing his memory and identity. Fifteen years later, Yueyue, now grown, reflects on her father’s disappearance and her longing for his return. Meanwhile, a mysterious figure, possibly the father, is seen struggling with his past, hinting at a deeper connection to the events that unfolded. The story sets the stage for a journey of rediscovery and reunion.
- Ep. 2Nigel Payne, now with a disfigured face and no memory, is determined to find his way back home. Elle Devin, the street-smart girl who has been his protector, vows to help him despite the challenges. Nigel’s only clue to his identity is a pendant, and they follow the faintest leads. Meanwhile, back at the Payne estate, Nigel’s daughter, Zhang, returns from abroad, desperate for news of her father. She scolds the staff for their lack of progress in finding him, frustrated by their incompetence. As she prepares for her father’s birthday celebration, she clings to the hope that he might return. Elsewhere, a new employee, Wang Yue, claims to have information about Nigel’s whereabouts, but his intentions are met with suspicion and hostility. The tension rises as Nigel and Elle inch closer to the truth, while those at home remain divided between hope and despair.
- Ep. 3Nigel Payne, still disoriented and struggling with his lost memory, finds himself in a heated confrontation. Accusations fly as someone blames him for a past tragedy, shouting, "You killed my father!" The tension escalates with threats and anger, leaving Nigel confused and vulnerable. Meanwhile, in another scene, a family grapples with their own turmoil. An elderly man expresses guilt over his son’s disappearance, fearing it was his decision to pass on the family’s responsibilities that led to the tragedy. His granddaughter tries to comfort him, assuring him it’s not his fault. The family anxiously awaits the return of their son, hoping his arrival will bring solace to his ailing mother. The emotional weight of the past and the uncertainty of the future hang heavily over them.
- Ep. 4Elle Devin and Nigel Payne, now a disfigured and memory-lost man, find themselves in a tense situation. Elle tries to explain to a skeptical woman that Nigel might be the long-lost CEO of Payne Corp, pointing out a matching pendant he wears. The woman scoffs, refusing to believe that the disheveled man before her could be the once-powerful figure. She mocks them, calling them "ugly scavengers" and accusing them of impersonating the CEO. Despite Elle's insistence, the woman remains unconvinced, dismissing Nigel as a "foolish old man." The confrontation escalates, with the woman repeatedly shouting "Don’t move!" as tensions rise. Elle remains determined to prove Nigel’s identity, but the skepticism and hostility they face make their journey home even more challenging.
- Ep. 5Nigel Payne, now disfigured and memoryless, finds himself in a tense confrontation. Elle Devin, his street-smart protector, stands by his side as they face accusations from a wealthy and arrogant woman, Zhang Yueyun. The woman accuses Nigel of ruining a precious painting she had prepared for her father’s birthday. Elle tries to defend Nigel, explaining that he didn’t mean any harm due to his disability, but Zhang dismisses their explanations with contempt. She mocks Nigel’s condition and belittles Elle, declaring that no amount of money could compensate for the damage. Zhang’s rage escalates as she threatens them, vowing to make their lives miserable. Despite the hostility, Elle remains steadfast, refusing to back down. The scene ends with a tense standoff, leaving Nigel and Elle to navigate the dangerous consequences of their encounter.
