- Ep. 1A young woman, Lin Feng, is being forced to marry a crippled man, Ho Chen, due to a pre-arranged marriage. Her mother and sister try to convince her to go through with the wedding, citing the benefits of marrying into a wealthy family. However, Lin Feng is reluctant and feels that her life will be ruined if she marries him. Meanwhile, another woman, Lin Ran, is being considered as a replacement bride, and she seems more willing to marry Ho Chen for the sake of gaining wealth and status. The story sets the stage for a complex web of relationships and power struggles within the wealthy Ho family.
- Ep. 2The scene unfolds with the bride from a rural area being mocked by others for her simple appearance. However, she stands up for herself when insulted by the groom's sister, who looks down on her. The groom, Ho Morning, intervenes and shows his authority. The bride is then told to leave, but she refuses, stating that she will only leave if her husband dies, implying a strong determination to stay in the marriage. She even chooses to stay in the room next to her husband's, showing her boldness. The groom seems intrigued by her fearlessness, commenting that she is the first woman to dare stand up to him. The scene ends with a sense of tension and curiosity about how their relationship will unfold.
- Ep. 3The young master's illness has flared up again. His condition, known as "造狂症," is severe and accompanied by insomnia. Despite many doctors trying to help, none have been successful. The young mistress seems to have a positive effect on him, and he is finally able to sleep after she arrives. However, the young master is unaware that his medication has been changed, and he demands to know who dared to make this decision without his consent. He orders that the person responsible be summoned before him.
- Ep. 4Ling Ran, the bride, is being questioned by her husband about her intentions. She reveals that she exchanged his medicine to cure his illness. However, he calls her a "white-eyed wolf" and orders her to leave. Just then, his grandmother intervenes, scolding him for bullying Ling Ran and asking her name. Ling Ran introduces herself, and the grandmother warns the husband not to mistreat her. The grandmother invites Ling Ran to eat with her, while the husband is left alone, still recovering from his illness.
- Ep. 5The grandmother reminds the newlyweds that tomorrow is their first return visit to the bride's family home and they should be respectful. However, the groom is reluctant to go, saying his body is not well and he doesn't want to be looked down upon by his in-laws. The grandmother scolds him, insisting that he must accompany his wife. Meanwhile, another character, Moshi, is involved in a confrontation with someone who touched him without permission. Later, Moshi gives instructions to his driver, telling him to create opportunities for the newlyweds to grow closer during their car ride. If not, the driver will be sent to Africa to dig coal. As they arrive at the Lin family home, the groom is hesitant to get out of the car, but eventually does so with some prompting. The scene ends with the driver being told to leave.
