• Ep. 1
  Dave Acton, a butcher and master of Starsplit Hall, is working at his shop when a customer tells him she saw his wife with another man at the bus station. Dave becomes enraged and chases her away. Later, he receives a call from his father, who says he's arriving home soon and asks Dave to save some pork for him. Meanwhile, a mysterious conversation hints at a powerful knife that will become divine after being wielded 99,000 times, and Dave is destined to be the new master of Xingxin Hall. As Dave works, he seems to be hiding something, and his father's arrival may bring more than just a family reunion.

  Dave's father arrives home, and a tense conversation ensues. The father is questioned about what he's hiding, and it's revealed that he has bullets. He explains that they were left behind by the Japanese and that he's a former soldier. The scene shifts to a discussion about the father being a national hero, but he humbly dismisses the notion. Suddenly, someone calls out "God General," and the atmosphere changes. A group of people appears, and it's revealed that they're not supposed to be there. The situation escalates as one of them claims to be having an affair with Dave's wife, sparking a dramatic confrontation.

  Dave's wife, Shen Jiao, is scolded by her father-in-law for being seen with another man. The father-in-law criticizes her for not being satisfied with Dave, a butcher, and wanting someone better. He reveals that Dave was a top student who could have gotten into a good hospital, but was replaced by a rich man's son. Shen Jiao's family is powerful, with connections to the wealthy and underground organizations. She threatens Dave, saying she will take everything from him, including his job and woman. Meanwhile, a customer orders 10 pounds of lean meat from Dave, warning him to make it into a fine cake without any fatty meat, or he will destroy his stall.

  Dave Acton is preparing to close his butcher shop to pick up his parents from the station. Meanwhile, a group of men are discussing how to provoke him into a fight. One of them, Cheng Shang, is instructed to anger Dave and make him draw his knife, so they can frame him for a crime. The men plan to have Dave's actions controlled by their associates, leading to a charge of premeditated murder. As the scene unfolds, a young man tries to intervene, but is intimidated and backs down. The group's leader, an older man, expresses disappointment in the young man's lack of courage. The atmosphere becomes tense as the men await Dave's arrival, ready to put their plan into action.
• Ep. 5
  Dave Acton's father arrives home and gets into a heated argument with someone. The old man threatens to have his nephew cause trouble for the person, who responds by mentioning Dave's son and grandson. The conversation turns violent, with the old man ordering someone to be beaten. Later, it is revealed that Dave's son had $300,000 in his bank account, which has been withdrawn. The scene ends with the old man demanding 10 kilograms of fatty meat from a butcher, who seems intimidated.
