• Ep. 1
  Marissa's husband, Jed, is in a critical condition and needs immediate surgery. However, the hospital demands a payment of five hundred million dollars, which Marissa is desperate to pay. She begs the doctor to perform the surgery, promising to send the money as soon as possible. Meanwhile, an older woman, possibly a grandmother, intervenes and tries to persuade another character, Qian Qian, to help Marissa. Qian Qian agrees to provide assistance on the condition that Marissa addresses her as "grandmother." Later, Qian Qian offers to provide a machine needed for Jed's treatment in exchange for Marissa's loyalty. However, their conversation takes a darker turn when Qian Qian demands that Marissa drink a cup of wine in exchange for her help. Marissa refuses, and Qian Qian threatens to make things difficult for her if she doesn't comply. The scene ends with Marissa refusing to give in to Qian Qian's demands.
• Ep. 2
  Marissa's husband Jed is forced to crawl on the ground by his family members. They mock him, comparing him to a dog. Meanwhile, Marissa's sister reveals that their mother has agreed to her marriage with another man, Rain. She demands that Marissa sign a divorce agreement, claiming that her fate with Rain was sealed ten years ago. Marissa refuses, and a heated argument ensues. The scene ends with Marissa's sister ordering someone to throw Jed out.
