• Ep. 1

  Qin Shu and Fu Linchen have a tense encounter. Qin Shu feels used by Fu Linchen, who she believes wants to marry her as a way to solve his problems.   Fu Linchen orders his staff to ensure Wang Yilin's safety after a chaotic night. However, he reveals to his grandmother that he intends to marry Wang Yilin. Meanwhile, Qin Shu's stepmother belittles her, comparing her unfavorably to Wang Yilin, who is set to marry the wealthy Fu Linchen. The stepmother complains about Qin Shu's worthlessness and how she has become a burden, even forcing her to work as a maid at the Fu household to earn money.

  Qin Shu is questioned about a necklace that belongs to the Fu family. It's revealed that the necklace has Fu Linchen's name on it and is meant for his future wife. Qin Shu's stepmother tries to persuade her to take Wang Yilin's place as the future Mrs. Fu, promising that their family will prosper if she does. However, Qin Shu is hesitant and unsure about what to do. Meanwhile, Fu Linchen's grandmother announces that Qin Shu is now a part of their family and will be the future Mrs. Fu. Qin Shu is confused and unsure about her new role, and Fu Linchen seems uninterested in her.   Qin Shu and Fu Linchen's family members are at odds. Qin Shu's stepmother had set her up, but she ended up marrying into the wealthy Fu family. In a heated conversation, Fu Linchen's brother accuses Qin Shu of being a thief and suggests she should be punished. However, Fu Linchen intervenes, revealing that he is a doctor and needs to take care of his grandmother, who is unwell. He warns his brother that if anything happens to their grandmother, he will be held responsible. The tension between the family members is palpable as they argue over Qin Shu's presence in their lives.
