Jeffry's wife and brother are having an affair. When Jeffry returns home unexpectedly, he catches them together. His wife tries to downplay the situation, but Jeffry is furious. He threatens to divorce her and expose their infidelity. The wife begs him not to, but Jeffry is resolute. He reveals that he knows about their son, Lian Lian, who is actually his wife's child with his brother. Jeffry's wife tries to apologize, but Jeffry is unforgiving. He tells her that she will have to face the consequences of her actions and that he will make sure their son knows the truth. The scene ends with Jeffry's wife pleading for forgiveness, promising to make it up to him in the next life.
  • Ep. 2

Phil is hesitant, but Jeffry assures her that he believes she was wrongly accused of infidelity. He promises to make her happy and provide a good life for her. Despite initial resistance, Phil begins to trust Jeffry again, and they decide to go home together. Jeffry vows to work hard and give Phil a happy life, marking a new beginning for the couple.
  • Ep. 3
Jeffry's wife is in the hospital, and he desperately wants to save their unborn child. However, they can't afford the expensive medication needed to ensure the baby's health. The doctor refuses to provide the treatment without payment, and Jeffry is forced to consider alternative options. He decides to try and make money by betting on a soccer match between Germany and Brazil, hoping to win enough to cover the medical expenses. Despite being told that Germany is unlikely to win, Jeffry places his bet, determined to find a way to save his wife and child.
  • Ep. 4
Jeffry encounters a man named Huang, who mocks his poor appearance and offers to take him to buy something. Huang proposes a bold bet, where if Jeffry loses, he must kneel down and call himself a pig. If Huang loses, he will crawl under Jeffry's legs, undress, and run outside three times. The two agree to the terms. It becomes clear that Jeffry has a past with Huang, having considered him a brother in his previous life, but was betrayed by him. Now, given a second chance, Jeffry aims to make Huang pay for his past wrongdoings, starting with this bet as the first lesson.
  • Ep. 5
Jeffry is watching a World Cup match between Germany and Brazil. The game starts with Germany scoring the first goal, and Jeffry's friend comments that it's just one ball. However, as the game progresses, Germany continues to score, leading 2-0, then 7-1. Jeffry's friend accuses him of having inside information, but Jeffry denies it, saying it's impossible for him to have any influence over an international match like the World Cup. In the end, Germany wins 7-1, and Jeffry's friend concedes defeat, saying "I lost, I'll take it."

The plot echoes tragicomedies like "A Man for All Seasons," where courage in defiance of overwhelming odds is tested. Here, Jeffry faces an arrogant adversary, poised for a climactic showdown.

Review: Braving power and privilege, Jeffry rebels against his fate, standing defiant before the "South City Royal Young Master" and setting the stage for a Shakespearean conflict of wills.

The introduction contradicts the plot details in several ways. It states that Jeffry's ex-wife supposedly killed herself, but later implies she murdered him. Meanwhile, Jeffry appears unaware of his alleged impending doom, which is inconsistent with a character who's returning from the future to change events. These inconsistencies need clarification.
